It's tough for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

This is the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, along with another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a side that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a tribute to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

"Hopefully we don't have to repeat it but, should it happen, we are confident we can succeed."

These statements will be the final thing competing nations at this tournament want to hear.

Over the past five days a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this success coming after win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.
